Matthew J. Dowd and Chief Judge Paul R. Michel (ret.) published an op-ed in The Hill concerning the rising Chinese technology surge and the failing United States patent system. The op-ed highlighted the numerous legal changes that have allowed courts to invalidate too easily valuable patent rights and how the status quo discourages innovation. The op-ed finishes with a call upon Congress to allow elected officials, not political appointees, to start making decisions that improve patent law.
